McKenzie Method is a globally
recognized technique
MDT stands for Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy - which is an astute system that includes assessment, classification and management of both spinal and extremity musculoskeletal disorders. This has been research across the globe for 60 years with an ever-expanding body of knowledge to continue improving how we take care of patients. The goal is to be non-invasive, educational and effective.
There is an old saying, "give someone a fish, they eat for a day - or teach them how to fish, they eat for a lifetime."
MDT is a system that actively identifies what movements you need less of and which ones you need to supplement.
In a simpler analogy, if you were deficient in a nutrient in your diet, you would be told to either:
a) eat more of the food that has the nutrient
or
b) take a supplement to get enough of that nutrient
In either case, you have to get
more of what you are missing...
Well, if you are deficient in a movement, then we will simply supplement with a specific version of that motion, which can be learned and applied as needed. This is completely scalable approach and enables the patient to be in the driver seat of their own healing process.
